What is Inspire Cycling?
Inspire Cycling welcomes all women cyclists to join our collective. We are based in the Roaring Fork Valley, but ladies from all over Colorado and even other states are encouraged and welcome to join. Our members are women who want to enjoy the camaraderie of a team but without the pressure to keep up or push beyond their limits to fit in. We want to inspire each other to try new rides and develop new skills all while having fun and making new friends. We love connecting with our community on and off bikes and encourage members to find their "tribe" within the Inspire Cycling collective. Inspire Cycling is NOT a coaching organization. Our ride leaders are volunteers, not trained coaches. All rides are social in nature, unless otherwise specified.
Why should I join?
Do you want to find ladies to ride with? Would you like to discover new routes? Perhaps you want to develop new skills or try out a different discipline? New to mountain biking? New to gravel riding? Do you simply love riding bikes? If you answered yes to any or all of those questions, that is exactly the reason why you should join. We've got a terrific group of women, coaching opportunities, fantastic sponsors and perks, and a whole lot of fun planned!
Where does my registration fee go?
We are a non-profit organization (awaiting 501c7 approval from the IRS) and completely run by volunteers. Your membership dues pay for insurance (yes, you're covered on our rides!!), operational costs such as League of American Bicyclists membership, website and design fees. It also takes money to hire pro coaches for clinics, provide party food and rent event venues.
Do I have to be a competitive cyclist to keep up?
Heck no! Part of why our founders created Inspire Cycling is because we were tired of hearing women complain about not being fast enough or feeling too intimidated to ride with others. If you think you're the slowest lady out there, we want you to join! One thing we take seriously is that "slow shaming" is absolutely not allowed.
On the contrary, if you'd like to dip your toes into racing we will encourage you and even join you on the line for your first race. The Aspen Cycling Club has Wednesday night races throughout the summer and is a good place to start!

Are you going to make me buy a kit?
No. We don't want to force you to buy anything. We sure hope you love our kit design and you'll want to wear all of the fun pieces, but we won't make it mandatory. You should know that we don't make any money off of the kits. We open a Team Store online and members are able to purchase items directly from Pactimo.
What's mandatory for membership?
Nothing. Well, maybe that you have your own bike - but really if you just want to join our social events that's cool too. One thing we know is that most of us are busy women and there's nothing worse than having mandatory attendance or volunteering minimums. You can show up as often or as infrequently as you'd like. But we guarantee the more often you show up, the more you will be glad you did! Memories and friends are rarely made on your couch.
I'm just a mountain biker, do I have to have a road bike to join?
Nope. We plan to have rides for all disciplines - mountain, road, and gravel. We even host a downhill skills clinic at Snowmass Bike Park. Whatever bike you have, there will be a ride for you.
Do you allow e-bikes?
Yes. However, e-bikers must abide by rules set by local law enforcement. For example, Class I and Class II e-bikes are allowed on the Rio Grande trail from Two Rivers Park in Glenwood to Emma Road in Basalt. From the Pitkin county line at Emma road to Aspen, only Class I e-bikes are allowed on the Rio Grande trail.
Currently all e-bike usage is prohibited on single track trails throughout Pitkin and Eagle counties, and is still being considered in Garfield county. Pedal assist mountain bikes may still be ridden on BLM roads deemed for motorized use.
Please see our Safety & Etiquette for more information on e-bikes.
