Join us for a weekend of riding in Moab
October 1-4, 2026
Inspire Members deserve a fun weekend after a great season of riding. Bring your bike(s) for a season-capping weekend of trails, campfires, and adventures. 

Ride as much or as little as you like. Check out new trails. Visit the National Parks. Stargaze. Learn some new trails.

We want to enjoy some desert riding with you!

The Riding

Were camping in the center of the Navajo Rocks Loop Trail network in Moab, UT for the weekend!
That means miles and miles of trails & roads to ride - all from camp.

Mountain Biking

Navajo Rocks Loop Trail network offers some of the most fun riding in Moab. Nearby Gemini and Mag 7 trails are easily shuttled or ridden to, and of course the iconic cross country Moab trails aren't far. 

As with most Moab riding, the trails are singletrack with a few straight up climbs.... don't feel bad if you walk up the steep sections....everyone does  :)

There are very few absolute beginner trails here, but they can be found if you are flexible and willing to explore.

Road Biking

Road biking in Moab is great! The wind blows in every direction - adjustable layers and attitudes are a must. But any roadie will be thrilled at the sweeping roads with options for a little dirt and a beautiful pic. 
 
There is some road riding from camp, and plenty of routes on Strava if you want to explore farther. Be aware that many of the roads in Moab are trafficked with campers and larger vehicles. Comfort riding safely on remote, higher speed roads is essential.
 
In October, some of the more technical routes (like the La Sal Loop) might be icy if there is weather.  Local shops and weather apps can provide beta.

Gravel Biking 

Gravel biking in Moab is excellent. Routes are available from camp and pretty much throughout Moab area. The famous White Rim route can be accessed from the nearby Horsethief Campground.

We do not exaggerate when we say, there are literally miles and miles of dirt roads in nearly every direction –its amazing. 

Gravel riders are strongly encouraged to explore routes for ideas before going - you can string together some pretty epic rides, but a little planning goes a long way. 

Decision fatigue is real - the gravel options are incredible.

BIKE VIBES

Is this trip only for mountain biking?    Nope. Road and gravel bikes are welcome. 

Where do I get information on rides, trails, and routes?      MTB Project app is our favorite app  for this - download the Utah trails. Our camp is basically in the center of the Navajo Rocks Loop, northwest of the town of Moab. Strava is also a great way to see where others have ridden road and/or gravel routes – and of course Google probably has more info.  Please arrive with at least one means of digital or paper trail map. Near camp, there are signs and information throughout, but elsewhere in Moab, you must to be self-sufficient.   You are empowered to navigate trails as your fun, energy, and skills dictate!  

Is this beginner friendly?  While there are a variety of trails to ride in Moab, most are bluer+ riding.  It IS possible to find green-level mountain bike riding and bike paths if you are prepared to explore.  Moab boasts some of the best black and technical routes in the US, and of course, let’s not forget it's the greatest concentration of slick rock trails out there. Road biking is intermediate+ . Gravel biking is green-black in difficulty depending on route. Single track gravel routes exist, do your homework on them and come ready to explore! Jeeps, cars, cattle trucks, campers, and 4x4s share all the roads and many trails roads in Moab. 
 
Group rides vs solo riding?  Ride how you like, on your own schedule -or- gather some fellow riders for an adventure, it’s up to you. Want to chill at camp? No problem. If nearby trails or roads are not your jam, drive to trails elsewhere to do your own thing.  You are not limited to our camp routes, rides, or timing – this is your weekend, make it work for you. YOU DO YOU!
If there is interest in group rides, we may organize a few rides by interest, energy, distance and level – this is TBD. 

Where can I leave my bike when I am not crushing it? Bikes can be stored at camp; we always recommend a lock. Many people will stow bikes inside a vehicle or locked to a rack. There is no secured storage – this is an open group campsite situation.  

SURVIVAL

How much water should I bring? It is recommended to bring 1 gallon of water per person per day for drinking and face/hand washing. More for dishes.
 
What is the food + cooking situation? Every person for themselves! Bring your own food, snacks, drinks, ice, cooking and cleaning stuff, and garbage bags. Coolers (with good, grippy seals or snaps) are great and can be kept in your vehicle or under the picnic shelter for shade.  Campsite tables will also be used as gathering places, so we’ll strive to keep it a tidy shared space.  We might do some s'mores one night, just for fun - we'll letcha know on happy hour antics! 
 
Garbage We camp with Leave No Trace rules (we leave our site + trails better than we found 'em).  Be prepared to pack out anything you don’t use, including your food waste, food scraps, and recycling. The desert is a fragile ecosystem despite looking stark and dry. Food and waste dont degrade easily (or ever) and it's a heavily used place by visitors.  There's usually a dumpster for landfill waste at the campsite, but just in case its gone for the season, be prepared to pack ALL waste out.  It's windy AF in Moab, especially up on the bluff where we will be. This means stuff can – and will- blow away easily. 

Dish Washing You do your own dish washing. Bring your own  water, soap, bleach and bins/basins, towels.  Don’t feeling like cleaning? You are welcome to pack out your dirty dishes.  We will NOT be burning food (or other) waste in a campfire.

Washing yo self - This weekend is the perfect opportunity to rock the ‘camp shower’ (aka baby wipes) if things get funky.

Can I come to solo?  Yes, absolutely

Where are we camping? We have Group Site A at Lone Mesa Reserved. From Moab, drive nine miles north on Hwy 191 to the intersection with State Route 313. Turn west on State Route 313 and drive eight miles. Turn right on the Dubinky Well Road and go approximately 200 yards to the campground entrance road. Turn right and proceed up a small hill to the site. Latitude 38° 38' 8.9300" N Longitude 109° 48' 17.7800" W

Arrival/Departure? We have the Lone Mesa Group Site A from noon Thursday Oct 1- noon on Sunday Oct 4. Come as you can, stay for part or all of the weekend – it’s up to you. If you are arriving late, please be courteous, dim your lights, and park yourself so the group still has space to hang and accommodate folks driving in/out. We will be flexible as people need to come/go. It’s freestyle parking, so we will all do our best so everyone can enjoy!
 
I need my own space. Can I camp elsewhere close by? You do you, boo. Camp in designated areas on the BLM land surrounding the area, stay in town, whatevs! The town of Moab is approximately 30 minutes away and has dining, sports rentals, and ice cream.
 
Cell service at camp? Sort of. It is spotty, but possible.

Toilets  It’s a shared, vault toilet situation.

Parking Our campsite is a large, open group site. We will park and arrange ourselves in a ring of sorts around the site so there is a central space to hang, and folks can come/go if need be. Parking is freestyle – we will do our best to spread out and make space for everyone.  The site does NOT have water, a dump station or electric hook-ups.  
 
Can I bring my kids? No kids please
 
Can I bring my dog? Leave your fur babies at home for this weekend. Dogs in the desert can be challenging with cactus, heat/cold, wildlife, ticks, other dogs, horse packers, and campsite safety.
